Amir Temur Square

Tashkent Amir Temur SquareThe Amir Temur Square in downtown Tashkent is built in memory of Amir Temur (also known as Tamerlane, a political and military leader in the Middle-Ages). The majestic square was called the Kaufman Square and Karl Marx Square. After Uzbekistan independence in 1991 it was renamed as Amir Temur Square. The solemn statue of Amir Temur on the Horse is seen at the center of the square, which is covered with greenery almost all time of the year and beautiful flowers decorate the pavements, and Amir Temur faces the Independence Square.
It is an ideal place for local people's leisure, especially during hot summer days; the beautiful fountains provide cooling moisture for tourists. There will be many senior citizens playing chess and local residents rambling around. The Amir Temur Metro Station is quite close the square. The Amir Temur Museum is located near to the Amir Temur Square, also the Hotel Uzbekistan, Broadway Tashkent, Khokimiyat Tashkent, Clock Tower of Tashkent, Istanbul Cafe, and Bahor Restaurant are in vicinity.
