Chongqing, a charming city

With well-known as the largest industrial and economic center in southwestern China, Chongqing City is a popular destination for people who want to have different experience with its landscape, night scenery and spicy food. It is hard to choose one word to describe Chongqing. People call it “Mountainous City” because of its hillside building, “Fog City” for its brumous weather, and “Furnace” for its high temperature in summer. Chongqing is such an elusive city that attracts me to figure out.


I like Chongqing’s night scene most. The rolling terrain and the hillside buildings make its night scene more vivid. Looking at such view, I even had a dreamy feeling that I was in the sky and was surrounded by countless stars.

Many friends told me that I should go to Hongyadong if I want to see a special night scene. Hongyadong is located in the downtown of Chongqing by the riverside of Jialing River. Many people call it “Spirited Away of China”, because its buildings are real like the scene in Spirited Away which is a famous animation directed by Hayao Miyazaki.


The Yangtze Three Gorges is famous for its steep terrain and splendid view. When I stepped into this area, it took me to Chinese traditional paintings of the elegant Three Gorges gallery. Many visitors have been attracted by its charming thousand-year-long history and the mysterious folktales. Of course, I am one of them! Along the banks of the Yangtze River, the high peaks rises with verdure, the cliffs are always wreathed in mist. It is no doubt that many poets were attracted by such beautiful view and wrote a lot of famous poetry to eulogize.


Besides, Chongqing is also famous for its catering culture. People like eating spicy food to remove internal moisture, among which the hotpot is the most famous and favorite dish in Chongqing, especially in winter. The family gathered around the table to share their interesting stories while tasting the hotpot. How warm the picture is!

But, for me, Chongqing small noodles is the best dish. Unlike noodles in other areas, Chongqing small noodles regards condiment as its soul. It is very worth tasting.
