The Six Terraces in China

China is a country with vast territory and abundant resources. It is the world’s largest producer of rice and other crops also have large output. In China, terrace is a common farmland for farmers to plant rice and other crops. In this article, the author will have an introduction of six terraces in China. 

Longji Terrace 

The Longsheng Rice Terraces also called the Longji Rice Terraces, are located in Longsheng County, about 100 kilometres (62 mi) from Guilin, Guangxi, China. A coiling terrace line that starts from the mountain foot up to the mountain top divides the mountain into layers of water in spring, layers of green rice shoots in summer, layers of rice in fall, and layers of frost in winter. The terraced fields were mostly built about 650 years ago.

Yuanyang Terrace

The Honghe Hani Rice Terraces are the system of Hani rice-growing terraces located in Honghe Prefecture, Yuanyang County, Yunnan, China. The terraces' history spans around 1,200 years. The distribution has four counties: Yuanyang, Honghe, Jinpin and Lüchun. The core area of the terraces is located in Yuanyang County. The total area measures 1,000,000 acres, with the declaration area being 16,603 ha. In 2013, the Honghe Hani Rice Terraces were listed as a World Heritage Site.

Jabang Terrace

Located in southwest China's Guizhou province, Jiabang terrace field is home to the Miao people and a variety of ethnic cultures and customs. Here, the picturesque natural scenery of rice terraces is combined with the peaceful and unique wooden Miao houses. You can appreciate mirror-like terraces in spring, verdant terraces in summer, and gold terraces in autumn.

Youxi Terrace

Youxi Terrace, located in the Lianhe Village, Youxi, is the most beautiful terrace in Fujian. It is a colorful fairy tale world. When you stay here and look forward, you will see: the terrace fields, the house, the smoke and the work group, all these elements form a landscape painting.

Zijuanjie Terrace

Zijuanjie terrace in Shuichexixixi and Fengjiazhenshuanglin, Loudi, Hunan Province covers an area of 200,000 mus. The terrace is situated in mountains between 500-1000 meters above sea level. The largest is less than 1 mu and the smallest can only be planted with tens of Douhe.

Gaoyao Terrace

The Gaoyao Terrace, covering an area of 1000 acres, locates in the Gaoyao village, Danzhai, Guizhou, China. In annul Autumn, the rice and other crops in the terrace have matured with yellow and green, forming a beautiful picturesque and attracting many shutterbugs to take photos.
