4) Take an authentic tea break

China’s history with tea dates back to 2737 B.C. So it’d be almost impossible to visit all the tea plantations in China and taste all the varieties available. However, a great place to start would be in Hangzhou which is famous for its Xihu Longjing green tea. Here you can walk through the tea fields, visit the China National Tea Museum and participate in a traditional tea ceremony.

They are called the Longji rice terrace which means the “dragon’s backbone”. The rice fields are carved into the hillsides and have been there since the Yuan dynasty. You can take a tour to these beautiful rice terraces or for a little extra adventure you can hike through the terraces and explore the mountain villages.
