Upon arrival, you will meet up with your local guide who will take you to your hotel in Vientiane where you can have a rest. When you are ready you can explore the city, visiting Wat Sisaket which houses thousands of miniature Buddha statues, then the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo. There will be an opportunity to take photographs of the Patuxay Monument which is known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. After that, you will visit the central market known locally as the morning market. Here you can find beautiful antiques and collectables. After dinner, you will be transferred back to the hotel.

After breakfast, you will visit the National Museum of Laos before being transferred to the airport for the flight to Luangprabang, where you will be transferred to the local airport for a short flight to Luang Prabang. Perhaps the best preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia, Luang Prabang was registered by UNESCO in 1995 as a World Cultural Heritage City, and with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights it is one of the most delightful places to visit in Asia. Upon arrival, you will first be transferred to the hotel for check-in, and after a short break, you can stroll through the street night market, where you will be able to buy some crafts and textiles made by the local people. Then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi to see the sacred, gilded stupa as well as viewing a beautiful sunset over this once royal ancient city and the Mekong River.

After breakfast, you will see the city’s oldest temple – Wat Visoun, the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai, Wat Sene, and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with the classical architecture of a Luang Prabang temple. Then you will take a cruise on the Mekong River, where you can see the tranquil countryside as well as taking a visit to the interesting and mysterious Pak Ou Caves, that are crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes.
