Water Town of the South Yangtze River is a tourist attraction inside Hengdian World Studios. It gathers together the features of waterside towns in Jiangsu and Zhejiang Province and integrates the elegance of ancient towns with waterside scenery of water towns. The entire tourist attraction is divided into three sections: the Old-style Shop Groups, the Village Theatrical Performance and the Folk Houses along the River.

The Old-style Shop Groups present in front of you Chinese old-style shops, which feature ancient elegance. Among them, there are traditional restaurants, pawnshops, and old-fashioned tea houses, etc. All these shops can hardly be seen in modern China. You may enjoy Chinese tea in one of the tea houses and watch the people passing by, which might be a different experience for you. In the Village Theatrical Performance, you can appreciate the traditional village performance, which is put on in the open air. Some people watch the performance from the windows of the tea houses or restaurants while some just sit or stand leisurely in boats in the river enjoying the splendid performance. You can choose either way you like. The melody produced by different musical instrument such as Qin, Pupa, or Guzheng, together with the lively performance of the actors and actress will surely catch your eyes. The folk houses along the river features Chinese typical ancient style. One stands close to another with a small lane separating them. Wandering inside the tourist attraction, you can also appreciate the age-old bridges and the willows, the soft branches of which sway in the breeze, along the river bank. The scenic spot is so beautiful that it seems as if it was a marvelous landscape painting and you had fitted into and become a part of it.
