Qingshantang Stone Inscription

 

Qingshantang Stone Inscription is located at the former residence of Xu Xiake in Nanchangqi Village, Mazhen, Jiangyin. The name of Qingyutang directly from the couplet of “四月清和雨乍晴,南山尚广转分明”. It is well known for its inscription on the wall of hall. Originally, the stone inscription was behind the Xu Xiake Primary School. In 1978, a reconstruction was done for former residence of Xu Xiake, and a new building named Quketang was located in this residence. And the preserved Qingshantang stone inscription was also well arranged, there are totally 76 stone inscriptions for 94 pieces of essay and poems created by 85 celebrities. The content of stone inscriptions is mainly illustrating the behaviors and life experiences of Xu Xiake. It is valuable for research on Xu Xiake’s life and family. These essay and poems are shown in different literary styles, and written in different calligraphy styles. It is highly valued for art appreciation and preservation. In Jiangyin, the transportation is very facilitated. Taking a bus or taxi, you can directly go there. The starting price of taxis is 6 Yuan
