To learn about Chinese history and culture, the easiest way is to visit the museums distributed in different areas of China. One can see many of China’s cultural treasures in Western museums. To enjoy a complete and systematic experience of Chinese cultural history, one must visit the museums of their native land. The Palace Museum(The Forbidden City) as China's largest and most significant ancient palace,  is the best preserved one. Currently, it serves as China's Palace Museum. The National Museum of China has been built based on the original foundations of the History Museum of China and the Revolutionary Museum of China, thus the new museum is a comprehensive one that systematically exhibits the long history of Chinese's traditional culture. Shanghai Museum

Shanghai Museum is one of China's four greatest museums, and the other three are Beijing Museum, Nanjing Museum and Xian Museum. The new Shanghai Museum was finally established in 1995. It is located in the south of People's Square in the center of Shanghai's downtown. Shanghai Museum is world-renowned for its fine and rare collection of a large number of artistic heritage at home and abroad.
