2013 Tour of China International Highway Cycling Contest is in Full Swing
2013 Tour of China International Highway Cycling Contest (2013环中国国际公路自行车赛) is in full swing. It has attracted 22 teams from worldwide this year. In 2013, it began on Sep 13 and will last for 18 days, covering provinces including Shaanxi, Sichuan, Guizou, Hunan, Hubei,Chongqing and Tianjin.
The prize will be 150,000 US dollars in the Chongqing section. Among the 22 teams, 11 hailing from Europe, 9 come from Asia and 2 from America. It is a grand carnival for international professional cycling athletes.
Since its debut in 2010, Tour of China, an international cycling event of level UCI 2.1, receives great support from the UCI and the State General Administration of Sports of China. It is co-hosted by more than twenty cities in nine provinces and municipalities. Regarding scale and influence, it ranks the fourth just after Tour De France, Giro d'Italia(Tour of Italy) and Tour of Spain.
Tour of China unexceptionally starts from Xi’an and ends at Tianjin. The exact routes it covers differ annually. As China’s only cross-regional large-scale sport competition, it aims to cover the majority of Chinese cities within 5 years.
